Glossybox February 2013 international style box review

Glossybox
February 2013 international style
Today when I went to check the mail there was an exciting surprise - my February glossybox!
For those of you who do not yet know what glossybox is it is a monthly subscription box that costs $21/ month with free shipping although the monthly cost does go down when you purchase the 3 month, 6 month or 1 year subscription. They send out a monthly themed box which tends to include 5 beauty products which can be deluxe sized samples or full size products.
After researching monthly subscription boxes for a while I finally settled on glossybox to be the one I wanted to try so I signed up for a 3 month subscription last week. At checkout they'd given me an estimated ship date of February 19th but since I'd yet to recieve a shipping notice was under the impression my box had yet to ship.
So there was a little happy dance at my mailbox today at the sight of a glossybox poking out (they had to shove it in there and I do wish they had left it on my porch, which is what it looks like is done with other peoples glossybox, since they had to leave the mailbox hanging open with the box in plain sight.)
Glossybox comes in a cute black outer box which had the glossybox logo all over it and has a convenient pull tab to open. Inside that box is the actual glossybox which tends to be a pale pink with the logo right in the middle of the lid. Although they have had months with different looks for the box.
Inside the box you find an info card sitting atop the tissue paper that holds all the goodies with a ribbon wrapped around everything. I was surprised that the ribbon and all the embellishments for this Month were shades of pink as I feel it would have been cuter in red, white and blue to match the adorable little info card but that's just my thoughts. Now on to the beauty goodies!!
The first product I pulled out was the
- Evologie esystem duo pack intensive blemish serum & stay clear cream.
They sent out the full size of this which is two 5ml (0.17 Fl Oz) tubes one of each product. It claims to rapidly clear blemishes and reduce redness and post acne scaring. I am looking forward to trying this as I've been getting a few pimples lately. Although I am not thrilled with the slight medicinal smell of the blemish serum.
Next was the
- LISI liquid line eyeliner in Potion 07
This appears to be another full sized product. The potion 07 is a shimmery deep blue that reminds me of the color of my moms chevy cobalt and I absolutely love that color! It looks like it will be a cute color on when I swatched a tiny bit on my hand. The info card shows one in black so I'm guessing that they sent out a mix of different shades throughout the boxes. Now I just need to figure out a cute eyeshadow shade to use with this it might be nice with a silvery grey. I am liking that it's not a pencil eye liner as I always feel I'm going to poke myself in the eyeball with those LOL.
Third product was
- Nail Rock nail wraps in Meadham Kirchhoff AW 2012
This design would have been better suited for a Halloween themed box as there are ghosts and other funky looking designs on them. The package claims these nail wraps will last up to 10 days once you put them on. I might try them in a few weeks after I take off the super cute hot pink gelish polish I have on now. It appears tho be a full size product and that when you want to remove them you can just peel them off of your nails no nail polish remover required which is pretty cool.
Fourth was
- Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Au the Blanc soap
This little bar of soap is wrapped so cutely and it made the entire box smell wonderful! A full size bar would cost $30 so even though it smells good I wouldn't shell out that much just for a bar of soap. The 1.76 oz bar in the box should last a while so that's a good thing. Since I prefer to use shower gel I'll probably just use this occasionally which means it will last even longer for me.
The last product
- Da Vinci cosmetics shimmer powder in twilight
The info card says that this mineral powder can be used to add a subtle glow. It can be used with eye shadow or blush or as a highlighter under eyebrows or on cheeks. I am in love with the shade they sent me when I swatched it on my hand it goes very well with my skin tone. The shimmer is very subtle which is a plus as I don't want to have my look be overly glittery.
All in all I am impressed with my first glossybox and am glad that I signed up for three months and would gladly sign up for more. This months box shipped very fast and it appears that I may be one of the first subscribers to receive their box this month! This helped me with my resolve to not look at any sneak peaks for this month so my box was a complete surprise when it got here. I'm hoping to continue my plan of not looking at sneak peaks next month which I guessed will be a spring theme and I may be right as the website lists a 'spring fling' box now that wasn't there earlier this week!
I might be doing YouTube reviews on these boxes I just didn't feel like doing one today. But there's a chance I'll film one later tonight or tomorrow. Next month I plan to try to film it while I inbox but thisonth would be already unboxed when I film.
In the next few weeks I should also have be receiving the other monthly subscription box I decided to try the fancy.com's fancy box! So keep a look out for that review and if you want to order your own fancy box there is a code right now (25off1) which will get you $25 off your first fancy box which is full of quirky homies wares, gadgets and clothing to name a few things! I hope this review wasn't too long and ramble and I do apologize for lack of photos at the moment as I had to post this from my phone since blogger wasn't working on my laptop :(
Live. Love. Stay Asp-tastic!
