Every journey begins with a single step..

As 2013 comes to a close tomorrow night and with it begins a brand new year most of us are taking this time to clean out the old and plan for the new. So I figure what better time to start my new blog series I've been tossing around my brain. It doesn't have to do with subscription boxes or makeup (well makeup will be part of the end of the series).
I've mentioned before that I am blind in my left eye due to glaucoma. Around October 2010 my life started to change in a huge way when my doctor informed me that my left eye was legally blind. She had me make some decisions at that time which I believe included surgery to remove scar tissue from the first shunt she had placed in that eye. That surgery did not help as much as we hoped so a more invasive surgery to insert another shunt in a different part of the eye was recommended. I still remember bursting into tears in the office and that at first I was against doing the surgery since we couldn't save the vision in that eye anyway. My parents were behind me no matter my choice but after more discussion with my specialist I said yes to the surgery. That shunt went in the beginning of January 2011 and thus started my aversion to ever wanting to look at my left in the mirror ever again.
My eyes vary greatly now (not so much in their pressures which are thankfully doing amazing!) but more so in appearance.  I'd always been told from a young age that my eyes are beautiful and cool looking which can probably still be said for my right eye. My left eye however is not a thing of beauty but more of grayish where it should be white. It's also been described by several specialist as bumpy and lumpy which aren't terms that I think make anyone beam with pride over said eyeball lol. The biggest reason I rarely look at it us because my second shunt is clearly visible on the front of my eyeball since it could not be hidden under my lower eyelid. Any time I do look at my left eye all I see is this is big white square in the corner staring back at me that no longer blends into my grayish eye.
This aversion to my left eye led my mother and I to discuss the possibility of having my eye removed. After much thought on the subject I'd decided this was the best choice for me but alas you need health insurance for that kind of crazy expensive surgery. Which led us down the disability rabbit hole since every other insurance company denied me on the basis of all my pre existing conditions. This process was long and tedious and took one day shy of 2 years to finally to get my approval this August! Excitement and hope blossomed anew for my mother and I not even minding having to wait til January to start the surgery process. Well I mean there is one more little hurdle that was put in my way back in 2012 when my eye started to have days that it was extremely painful.  We found out from a cornea specialist that September that I have corneal blisters which are causing all this pain when my body is trying to heal itself after one pops. I still remember getting in the car when my regular eye Dr had stated that's what she thought they were and upon telling my mom the name her saying 'just the name of that sounds painful.'
I tried what are called contact bandages and at first those helped til it accidentally got poured down the drain in our hotel bathroom in Mexico lol. I'd gotten a replacement when we got home but they just kept falling out so now I use an eye ointment to help my eye heal when the pain starts and relieve my discomfort. But now after over a year of dealing with this pain the new year brings with it new hope as my insurance kicks in!  I have a consultation with a surgeon next week so I will be posting about that experience as the next entry in what shall tentatively be called the Eye for an eye series since I will be replacing my blind painful eye with a new glass and pain free eye! This has been 3 years coming and I have to say though I am excited for the future the surgery is getting me nervous...

What I'm loving Wednesday

So this week I decided to link up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom for what I'm loving Wednesday since its one of my favorite posts she does every week.

What I'm loving:
Diamond candles cupcake scent- I just got this in the mail today along with a surprise candle I bought for my mom. I started burning this one as soon as I got it out of the box since it smells so amazing and I can't wait to get to the hidden ring inside!

Catfish the TV show- OMG this weeks episode was insane. Right when I'd heard on the commercials that this girl thought she was dating the rapper bow wow I was like there's NO way it's now wow. Then as I was watching it just got crazier by the minute. What do you guys think if you watched it? I think this was one of the craziest episodes right after the one where that insane dude was trying to catch cheaters and make them change still surprised he had a gf lol

Pumpkin pie spice creamer- so my favorite thing to get at Starbucks is the PSL with extra pumpkin spice but I rarely get to Starbucks to get one so this is an amazing alternative. I also found out recently that Starbucks has the ingredients to make PSL all year round you just have to ask so I may try and see if I can get one outside of the regular PSL season lol

VC Andrews Roxys story- I got this in the mail last week from amazon (it was just released the last week of October) I loved the first book in this series and found the mini ebook that goes with these two a little underwhelming I was expecting more from it. But thankfully do far this book is really good and I find it hard to put down.

Mystery boxes and swaps- So this week julep announced their new mystery zig zag boxes and I couldn't help myself. I'd wanted to get one of the galaxy mystery boxes but I didn't cause the add on I wanted wouldn't go in my cart lol I know what your thinking 'why is she complaining they wouldn't take more of her money?!?' I also recently found a wonderful julep swap group on Facebook and have a mystery polish box from one of the girls in that group on the way to me. As well as signing up to take part in winter/ holiday mystery box swap. I'm already thinking of what to do for my box. I think I'm even going to do a cool design on the box!

Glossybox August bohemian summer

This review is a little late because I didn't get my box til a week into September. After I got the box I then had to wait for them to send me a replacement item for the busted eyeshadow I received. So this review will include the items in my original box as well as my replacement items that I finally got in the mail today.
Guess denim pouch: this bag is very cute and I hadn't realized guess was still around and still making denim products too bad the coupon code they sent expired the day I received the box.
Anatomicals spray misty for me facial spritz: I was skeptical when I saw this in other reviews but I ended up actually liking this product and I tend to keep it in my purse now.
Novex Brazilian keratin hair care treatment  cream: I will probably ended up trading this for something else cause I don't really have any use for this.
Jelly pong pong lip blush: haven't opened this since I'd gotten a pop beauty lip crayon in ipsy recently and I have plenty of lip products that I am trying to use so it will be awhile before I can get to this. I should really use one of my glossyboxes to gather up all my lip products in one place since I always seem to misplace them and find them at random times.
ModelCo eyeshadow duo in bronzed goddess: this is the product that arrived busted and was the item I was most looking forward to trying. They had run out of this product when I contacted them so they sent me two products to replace it. But I was lucky enough to find an extremely nice person in one of the swap groups I'm in who is sending me her duplicate of this eyeshadow and her duplicate sue Dewitt pressed powder.
Sue Dewitt triple c-weed pressed powder: I ended up giving the one that came in my box to my best friend S who says I'm spoiling her since I give her some of the makeup and products I get in these boxes.
Replacement products:
Sparitual nail polish (adore): I really like this pink color but I don't do well painting my nails with pinks this shade since its so light and hard for me to tell being half blind how well I've covered my nails so I will ask my mom to help me paint my nails with this color or I might take it with me next time I go get my nails painted at a nail salon but that's a very rare thing in the past few years.
Feel like honey moon skin base: this is a moisturizer and makeup base and I am looking forward to trying it. I don't remember seeing this in any past boxes so I'm wondering if this is possibly one of the September products that they decided to send me early.  I could be wrong and it may have been in one of the limited edition boxes.
This box had some hits and misses so hopefully they do better with this months box.

Taste guru September box

Today I got a huge surprise when the first of my two free taste guru boxes was dropped off on my porch! Their customer service said I wasn't going to receive this months box so I was happy to see it.
Being on the autism spectrum I've heard numerous times how a gluten free diet can help with so when I saw the deal for 2 free months just pay shipping I figured it was worth a shot since I've been considering gluten free for a while.
They had me excited by the first look and I couldn't wait to dig in to see all the full sized goodies so let's get into it!
~Toufayan bakeries gluten free wraps: I'm excited to try these cause I love wraps and tortillas. They also included a recipe in the box for grilled veggie and hummus wraps that look very tasty.
~Rocky mountain company popcorn company butter popcorn: I love to have popcorn while watching a movie although I don't tend to buy popcorn at the movie theater since I found a mouse running around in the kernels once when I worked at a movie theater, so I'd rather not risk a mousy surprise in my movie treat.
~Glutino gluten free strawberry breakfast bars: I am interested to try these and see what they taste like.
~ Sea Fare Pacific smoked salmon chowder: I've never had salmon chowder before so this should be interesting.
~ Cooksimple tamale pie: I think I'm going to make this one night next week and not tell my dad that its gluten free and see what he thinks of it.
~Viviana gluten free and vegan sweet potato fettuccine: omg they've combined 2 of my favorite things sweet potatoes and pasta! I will probably make this next week although I'm wondering what kind of sauce would be best with this since I'm not too sure that red sauce will go too well with it, any ideas?
I think I love this box company so many great full size products that I can't wait to try and I am looking forward to seeing what they send next month!

"Wrecking Ball" kind of love..

So I took a little break from blogging and there are a few box reviews I didn't do which I will be skipping since they would be a few months late. I'm going to get back into doing box reviews this month and should have my August glossybox review up soon since I just received it last week.
This post however is a more personal one to help me explain and deal with some things going on in my life. So last November my ex J and I decided to give our relationship another try. I gave him my entire heart and one week ago after a great lunch date he blindsided me that night on the phone saying that he wanted to take a break from us.
Only 3 days later he already had a date for Friday with another young woman (K). Needless to say my heart felt stomped on until yesterday. Yesterday he told me that he thought of this as a break up not a break. I know some people may feel writing about this so soon is a bad idea but knowing myself this will help me more then staying silent.
My heart feels like it has been ripped open and left bleeding on the floor. He'd been my first love and at the moment I feel like I could never trust anyone enough to give them my heart and thus the power to hurt me so immensely. I am not writing this to get people to feel sorry for me. I am writing this to try to start working through all this pain that I am feeling. I'm not looking for people to tell me that things will get better as I have too many people already telling me this. Not saying that any of you are wrong I am just not in a place where my heart is listening to any of that.
I know that I will get through this it will just take time and strength. Hope that you all are enjoying your September so far and that you will come back to read my upcoming box reviews!

Influenster 'Dasani Drops' Voxbox

I got an awesome surprise today when I went to my mailbox: a voxbox! I'd gotten the email that I pre-qualified last week and immediately took the survey. This time I hadn't received an email saying whether I was going to get the box or not yet. So at first when I saw the edge of the box in my mail I wasn't sure what it was then I saw compliments of influenster on the top.
The actual outer box is probably one of the cutest voxboxes I have ever seen and I had thought the orange one I'd gotten before was adorable. It was blue on the outside with a ton of colorful drops all over it and the inside was white with the same colorful drops all over the place.
The products they sent are a 16.9oz bottle of Dasani water and two bottles of Dasani drops water enhancers one in grape and one in strawberry kiwi. Since I have actually already tried the strawberry kiwi which I have a bottle of at my boyfriends, I decided to try the grape. Both of these flavors are very good although I think my favorite is the strawberry kiwi. Not sure if they have any other flavors but if they do I plan to try more of them in the future since the ones that I have tried are good.
I'd been thinking about getting some more liquid water enhancers so this box came at the perfect time and now I won't have to go get any! So excited that they did pick me for this voxbox and that I qualified for my second voxbox so soon after the sugar n spice voxbox.  Also need to get to Walgreens soon so that I can pick up a SinfulShine polish to review for the other influenster program I was invited to. Thank you influenster for all these amazing programs that you offer and the amazing voxboxes that you put together!

Popsugar must haves June box

So I decided to stick with popsigar for another month since I tend to love their boxes. This month is a great box and again it came before my estimated delivery date!
Gorjana and griffin zuma scarf- this is a cute and super soft scarf. Although it is so much bigger then I thought it would be so it looks like it would make a cute wrap for over a bathing suit at the beach or by the pool this summer. There is also a gift card for $25 for this site so I may have to check it out later.
Juice beauty stem cell repair moisturizer and 2 CC cream samples- I was surprised they sent the full size of this moisturizer and I am looking forward to trying it. Also very happy they sent samples of CC cream I love my BB cream so I can't wait to try this either.
Hard candy fitness addicted to sweat 4 DVD- not sure how I feel about this I may try it just to see what it's like but I will probably end up putting this up for swap.
Revenge wears prada: the devil returns novel- I was excited to see this book in the box since it just came out and I did love the movie for the first book though I never read the first one. So im on the fence wether I should try to read the first book first.
Project 7 quench the thirsty wintergreen mints- I will not be using this product since I can not stand the taste or smell of mint. I do love that this company provides clean water to people in need for every tray of mints sold!
Popcorn Indiana fit popcorn- this popcorn looks very tasty and it doesn't hurt that it's only 40 calories a cup and approved by the Biggest Loser.
I liked this months box and there are only 2 products I probably won't use but I'm sure I'll find someone who wants those. I will most likely stick with popsugar another month since I love it so far and can't wait to see what's in julys box!

May glossybox 1 year anniversary box!

I'd been on the fence about whether I would renew my glossybox subscription. That was until I saw that this months was the one year anniversary box so I knew it had to be good! It's also looking like the June box will be a good one since its a collaboration and called the American beauty box. Can't wait to see what goodies are in that but for now onto the contents of the may box.
Xtreme lashes glide liner long lasting eye pencil in xspresso-  I'm glad that this is a soft pencil liner and that they sent a dark brown shade so now I have a black and a brown eyeliner.
Sebastian volupt spray- I have been trying several different types of products to add volume to my thin flat hair so I'm excited to give this spray gel a try.
Epionce intense defense anti-aging and repair serum- ill probably give this to my mom as she likes these types of products and I don't really feel I need anti aging products at my age.
ĂŠtre  belle collagen and aloe Vera hydro mask- I'm looking forward to trying this as it is supposed to be very moisturizing.
European wax center slow it body lotion and slow it body wash- I don't tend to like foil packet samples but these products sound interesting as the body was helps prevent ingrown hairs and the lotion nourishes the skin.
Nicka k new york absolute! perfume stick-  I've never tried a solid perfume before and probably wouldn't have bought one for myself so it'll be nice to try something out of my comfort zone.
It's a pretty good box except for having 3 foil packets but other then that I like it and cant wait to see what's in June's!

Goodies co may box #4

So far this month all my monthly boxes have arrived before their given delivery dates! Wasn't expecting my goodies co to get here till Monday then when I checked today it said it was out for delivery! This will be my last goodies box til september since I suspended this one so here's hoping it's a good one this month!
Numi organic tea in Moroccan mint- well right off the bat I pull out a product I won't use. I can not stand the taste or smell of mint so this tea is not something I will drink.
Beanitos white bean chips in nacho cheese- I don't think I can eat these either since I'm lactose intolerant so I'll probably give these to someone too.
Super seedz sea salt gourmet shelled pumpkin seedz- these do sound good but I'll most likely give them to my dad since I think he likes pumpkin seeds. Also he calls me punk'in so that'll be kinda cute since they are pumpkin seeds lol.
Bronco bobs roasted raspberry chipotle sauce- this actually sounds really good since I love raspberry and I think the sweet from that will help the heat from the chipotle.
California olive ranch extra virgin olive oil x2- I like the little packages these come in and since I have been trying my hand at cooking lately to help my mom out I'm sure I'll find a use for this.
Wholly guacamole chip clip and coupon for a free product- I love guacamole and this is an amazing coupon so I'm looking forward to trying it. Might give this chip clip to my boyfriend since he almost always has chips at his house but no clips to shut them lol.
Sour power straws in strawberry and a multi flavor with strawberry, apple/peach, tutti frutti, and raspberry/ grape- these sound good to me since I like sour things so I can not wait to try them.
Zico pure premium coconut water- I am surprised they sent a liter of this that seems like a lot of coconut water. Not sure what exactly I can use this for but I will find something to use it for.
This box did have a few things I won't use but I'm sure that I can find someone who will like those products. I think the things I'm most looking forward to are the sour straws, the guacamole coupon and the spread. It does seem to have more products then last month though so that's a plus.

Popsugar Must Haves May box

So last week popsugar had an amazing code out for 50% off a box and since I've been really wanting to try this one of course I snatched one up! Today my may box came in the mail and I've been super excited to see what was inside so let's get right into this box of great stuff!
Kooringal Giselle mid brim hat: this is a big floppy sun hat that says it helps to protect against harmful UV rays. They sent me what looks to be a charcoal colored hat which is cute but I am not much of a hat person. So I might end up gifting this to someone or trying to find someone to trade it to for something I will use.
The modern cocktails modern margarita set- this set is just so cute and includes 5 flavored mixers in individual bottles to make unique cocktails or mocktails. These flavors sound really good and I am looking forward to trying them out!
Questions I ask when I want to talk about myself deck- Mindy Kaling is by far my favorite comic right now. I love to watch her show Mindy and I've been wanting to read her book just haven't read it yet. It sounds like she transformed the book into these conversation cards. I think these would make a fun party game and am looking forward to trying these out soon!
The original beauty blender and blender cleanser- the beauty blender is a cute little pink sponge with a unique shape to help fit the contours of the face while easily applying makeup. I'm going to try this to see if it helps applying my BB cream evenly because right now I apply it with my fingers. Also glad they included the cleanser for the sponge since this will make it easier to clean up the sponge after use.
Pacifica natural color quench lip tint in sugared fig- this is the third pacifica product I've received this month in boxes and so far I am really liking the first two so I am sure this one will be just as good.
Charm and chain gift card- I will probably give this to someone else and I am unlikely to use it. I'd rather give it to someone who will be able to use it then have it go to waste.
Special extra items:
Way better snacks sweet potato tortilla chips- this sound very tasty and since I really like sweet potatoes I'm sure I'll love these.
Popsugar tote bag- they included a cute little white vinyl tote bag with hot pink side panels, black handles and the popsugar brand name on both sides of the bag. It's a cute little bag and I am sure to find some use for it. I just wish it was made of a different material.
All in all this is a great box this month and I am so glad I was able to get it for such a great price. Also glad that this months box was better than Aprils box since I wouldn't have had a use for the garment bag and wouldn't have wanted the Kai fragrance.

Ipsy May "Spring Fling" Bag

Today my May ipsy bag got here and it is amazing! I'd found out in my tracking email that I was getting a bonus item this month which made me even more excited to receive the bag. It got here a day earlier then the expected delivery date so that was a great surprise!
But enough of my rambling on to the goodies!
Zoya nail polish in Blu- lots of people were excited including myself to see the first sneak peek for this bag was a zoya nail polish. The shade I got looks very light in the bottle so I'm hoping that the blue shows up a little more on.
Yaby concealer refill in buff- I was a little nervous when I found out they included concealer as to whether the shade would match my skin tone since some others said theirs didn't. Luckily it looks they sent me the right shade for my skin tone so I'm looking forward to trying this concealer.
Pacifica perfume roll on in island vanilla- this scent is really nice and the packaging is really cute. I'm glad I got this scent instead of the gardenia one since I love vanilla perfume.
Pacifica luminizing body butter in coconut crushed pearl- this lotion smells amazing and it left my skin feel super soft.
Juice beauty reflecting gloss in pink- this has a very strong orange scent to it and the shade seems to not have much color to it. I was a little worried when I took it out of the bag that the color was going to  be too dark but thankfully that's not the case.
Bonus item: Urban Decay moon dust eyeshadow in intergalactic: this is the product I was most excited to get after receiving my tracking email. Ipsy hadn't told us what shade we would be receiving and I am loving this sparkling purple shade and can not wait to use it!
I also really liked the actual bag the products came in this month it's such a cute orange and blue chevron and I have no makeup bags like this in my collection. Much better then last months solid white bag that they ended up not sending all subscribers last month since some of the people got a bag covered in flowers instead of the white bag and I wish I'd been sent the second version of the bag instead.
If you would like to check out ipsy and are considering subscribing please use my referral link to do so Http://www.ipsy.com/?refer=u-hddyd8h3ihx41715

Juniper May box

I received my free May juniper box this week which they offered to send free after forgetting the midol packs last month. I was surprised to see the email for mays box the last week of April. Again I have to say I really like the colors they use. I will probably have to put a hold on this box for a few months at least though since it is more expensive then other boxes and I will be having a big surgery hopefully in the next month or two.
Let's get into the goodies:
Tampons, pads and midol- which are the main components of this box but I won't go into those since I would hope you know what they are for.
Clean getaway lip balm- this tin is super cute and it was nice that they included an item that wasn't food. Although this is the third lip balm I've received in the last two weeks and I am still working on my goal of using up my entire honest co lip balm I got in glossybox before I open another one.
GloryBee honey in blackberry, mango, and mint- I think I still have one honey stick left from last months box but two of this months honey flavors sound good to me as well. The only one I won't be using is the mint one since I absolutely can not stand the taste/smell of mint. So that honey stick will go to someone else.
Justin's chocolate hazelnut butter- I have been wanting to try this since I saw it as one of the products people were sent on swaggable but I'd gotten the chai mission which was tasty just not something I'd drink often.
Montmorency dried cherries- these sound really good to me since I do enjoy dried fruit. On a side note last weekend while we were all enjoying my brothers birthday pineapple upside down cake my niece informed us she didn't want the cherry and that though I don't think she'd ever tried one she doesnt like them. So her dad got her to eat one and it turns out she does like cherries.
Snack factory pretzel crisps- these sound very tasty and I like the fact that they are flattened like chips.
Tulsi tea in chamomile, hibiscus and their signature blend- I didn't like last months tea as much as I thought I might so these teas are most likely going to be finding a new home with the two teas from last month I have left and the mint honey stick from the may box.
Though I do like the company and they have great customer service I will have to stop getting this box for a little while. Although if every box keeps having tea and honey I may have to give this box up for good since I'm not a big tea drinker or honey person.

Thursday thoughts on Saturday lol

Once again I forgot to post this on Thursday but this week my left eye was hurting really bad on Thursday so I didn't get much of anything done. I had started writing this but wasn't ready to post it so I'd saved it thinking I'd get to it later in the day and never did.

Glossybox: so my 3 month sub to glossybox has ended and I am debating if I want to renew for another 3 months or not. Although with May being their one year anniversary box i most likely will renew just wish i could find a code for an extra free product to use when i renew. I do have a 20% off code so it would be less then last time and I have really liked 2 of my 3 boxes although the April is my favorite since I will use everything but the shower gel and I already gave that to John.

Speaking of boxes I did break down and order the target beauty box cause I have been wanting one of those Venus and Olay razors wondering if they are sending the original or sugarberry. Also I've tried a sample of the BB cream that will be in it before and I think it's actually the BB cream I bought at rite aid last Wednesday so I can always use more of that since I love it.

Thursday I got my may juniper box which they sent me free since they'd forgotten the midol I asked for last month so i will be getting the review of that box up soon. I shouldn't be getting a box till the middle of the month when ipsy gets here which I'm excited for since the one sneak peek I messed up and saw was zoya nail polish and I've been wanting one of those for a while just never bought one. But I'll most likely use it on my toes since regular polish doesn't seem to work with a gel top coat and I love the staying power of gel on my fingers.
Candy crush: so I got this game on my phone a few weeks ago and now I see how addicting it is. I finally passed level 35 and now I'm stuck waiting for my friends to help me get to the next part. The waiting is probably gonna drive me insane lol.
Get up and move: so this week I've made it a point to start working out a little bit and am happy to say that I did a mile on the elipitical 3 days this week! Hopefully overtime I will be able to bring my time down but for now I'm just proud of myself for doing it!

Girls night in: cravebox

I found out last week that I was one of the winners in the girls night in cravebox drawing! Ever since getting the shipment email I've been wondering what could be in the box since it was saying it weighs 4.4lbs. Today it finally got here and I am super excited to tear in and tell you all the goodies. This box did cost me $14 since the cravebox drawings are for a chance to buy the box, although they do also have an option now to buy/ gift instant boxes from past themes that will ship the day after you purchase. Also if you are interested in entering one of their drawings they have one open now called spring cleaning and will have another one opening soon that I believe is for mothers day. But onto the goodies in the girls night in box!

Neutrogena revitalizing lip balm sheer tint with SPF 30- this says it will help you achieve softer, rosier and healthier looking lips. It's the second lip balm I've received lately and told my boyfriend it's my mission to use up a lip balm before I open another one. I have never used up an entire lip balm/ chap stick since I usually lose it after using it a few times. So I put my honest co lip balm in my purse to hopefully help me not lose it lol.

Ford warriors in pink booklet and scarf- I have to admit I was super excited to see this as I've always wanted something this line. They always do such cute things and my grandmother died of breast cancer so I will most likely give this scarf to my mom as part of her mothers day present.

Fruit2o in natural strawberry- this sounds really good to me since I love strawberry and am one of the people who doesn't like the taste of water so I always have to put some sort of mix in to flavor it. This water is already flavored so I don't have to!

Zaca recovery patch- these are organic patched that claim to help you enjoy feel great mornings, bright eyes and clear headedness. It doesn't say what they are to recover from but to me that sounds like a hangover but I haven't had a drink in a while and I don't remember ever having a really bad hangover before anyway.

Tree hut renewing hand cream in moroccan rose- I just tried a little bit of this and not only does it smell amazing but it leaves skin feeling silky smooth in my opinion.

Hills bros cappuccino in French vanilla and a coupon- we actually have a pumpkin spice version of this which I think is by the same company. This one sounds really good too who doesn't like a nice French vanilla cappuccino? Also with the coupon they tell you to check out their website for recipes you can this mix in which I think is a great idea.

NakedWines.com gift card- ok this is the second wine gift card I've received this week so these box companies must really wanna liquor me up. Maybe they heard how giggly I get or how I haven't had a drink in a while? Lol

A fox network nail file and two nail polishes- I didn't need further pushes to watch either of these two shows since I already TiVo both although lately my TiVo think its funny to tape only the first minute of new girl and fool me into thinking I have the entire episode so I missed the last 2 new episodes which I really wanted to see. There is a pastel pink polish to promote new girl and a glittery bluish purple for the mindy project which I have to tell you is one of my favorite shows I love that male nurse who mindy hired after he was released from prison he's so funny. I'm most likely giving the nail file away as I can not stand the feeling of my nails being filed it has to do with my autism spectrum disorder (that's right folks may starts tomorrow so I have to get used to saying autism spectrum disorder which is much more of a mouthful then aspergers) whenever my nails are being filed it feels like weird vibrations going through my entire body and my brain and it's very uncomfortable so I end up having to close my eyes and hold my breath a little bit to try and block it out. So I might just give the polish and nail file to my niece as part of her birthday present which John and I did pick out Friday during our big errand run.
I think it might have been cooler if they have us either a DVD with one episode of each of those shows most likely the pilots or a gift card to iTunes to purchase an episode or two of a tv show to watch while we drink wine and cappuccinos, put hand lotion on each other, and try to share one scarf, one lip balm and one bottle of fruity water. Gosh I can see it now lots of fighting over the scarf and lip balm in between everyone having to rush to the bathroom every few minutes from all those beverages and I hope your only having a two person girls night in since you've only got two recovery patches for the next morning lol.

Goodies co April box #7

I received my first goodies co box today but I have made myself wait to open it until after I'd gotten through moving furniture and things getting ready to do some more painting. So now I'm even more excited to tear into this box!
There is no information card with this months box just a card that says where to go online for information on the items.

NakedWines.com gift card; they included a $50 gift card to use on wine which is the same website that cravebox included a gift card to in their girls night in box and mine should be here Tuesday. Very excited for that box as my tracking says it weighs 4.4lbs and I have no clue what's in it other then the gift card.

Truebar coconut cashew: I've tried this brand before in a swaggable mission in two of the other flavors and both were very tasty so I can't wait to try this bar!

Green giant multigrain sweet potato chips sea salt flavor: I had no clue that green giant was making chips now. These sound really good and I would have never thought of sweet potatoes as chips.

Angie's classic sweet and salty small batch kettle corn: I'm not big on kettle corn since it tends to be sweet. Since this is sweet and salty I think I might like it though. I'll probably save the popcorn and chips to share with John next time we watch a movie together though so that way if I don't like it maybe he will.

Zone bar in chocolate chip cookie dough: this sounds very tasty and it has 10g of protein in it.

Olomomo righteous cinnamon cayenne almonds: not sure if I'll like these but I'll give them a try. My favorite part of this product would have to be that they include love in the ingredients list aww!

Celsius in raspberry acai green tea: this claims to be a calorie reducing drink that gives you energy. The can says that drinking this along with moderate exercise will help you burn up to 100 extra calories, increase metabolism, provide healthy energy, reduce body fat and improve endurance. This flavor sounds tasty and I am looking forward to giving this a try since I'm going to start trying to lose a little weight in the next couple weeks.

All in all this is a great little box of snacks and I'm sure that they will all get eaten and enjoyed. This coming week I will have 2 more box reviews up since both my girls night in cravebox and the may juniper box will be coming. After that it should be another week or so til I get my may ipsy bag so there will be a break from box reviews. Hope you guys are enjoying my reviews and that they aren't too boring.

Glossybox April- Work That Beauty

This month glossybox released two spoilers but one of them was just the brand of one of the products. I've been looking forward to this months box since they said everyone would be getting a full size blush worth $22 which in itself makes up the price of the box!
The goodies!:
- Alterna hair care bamboo style boho waves tousled texture mist; this is the brand spoiler they gave this month. I found out that Katie Holmes is now a co owner in this company after they announced the brand. I'm looking forward to seeing how this texture spray compares to not your mothers beach babe spray.
- Bvlgari eau parfumee au the blanc tea bag for bath: Even though they gave us bar soap in the last two boxes including a bar soap of this scent in the February box I am looking forward to trying this. I'm glad they didn't include bar soap this month instead they including a bath tea and a shower gel (later in the review). So they may still be trying to tell us all we smell with so many bath products lol.
- The honest company honest organic lip balm in sweet orange vanilla: I was super excited to this in the box since I've been wanting to try honest company products but haven't been able to decide what I'd try. The scent of this balm is amazing it reminds me of a creamsicle and it goes on so smooth! Might have to order more of this when I use it up.
-TIGI cosmetics glow blush in lovely; this is the product they did a spoiler for and I was excited to see what shade. Lovely is a dark pinky red shade that reminds me of the color of raspberry sherbet. It doesn't appear too pigmented on and it has a slight sparkle to give a little bit of glow.
- Wash with Joe coffeemint invigorating body wash: this is the one item in my box I will not be using this month as I can't stand mint (the taste or the smell). So my boyfriend John will be getting this body wash since he'll use it (hopefully on days that we aren't going to see each other so I don't have to smell the mint)
Le MĂ©tier De Beaute replenishing daily solution: the one downside of this is its a little foil packet. Looks like they included this to promote their glossybox member exclusive discount for this product. They are offering $75 off a full size of this which is still way too much in my opinion to spend on a 1.7 oz jar of face cream. So I will be sticking with products from the drugstore or target though I'll gladly use the sample they sent.
All in all I'm really loving this months box and am more excited about the lip balm then the blush but only a little bit more. I was still on the fence about whether I would renew but the 20% off code has me leaning towards wanting to renew especially if next month is as good as this one!

Thursday thoughts

Once again it is Thursday and that means time for more rambling also known as Thursday thoughts.
- We went out as a family for my brothers 30th birthday dinner yesterday. It was the first time I had been to Chevys Mexican grill and the food is amazing. They even make fresh guacamole at the table and mix your salad there if you order one of those. Although I warn you if you order a salad you'd better want enough salad to feed a village cause that's what your getting lol. I ended up giving my brother a set of darts and the broom/dustpan combo from marchs fancybox. He loved both and said that little broom will come in handy on the counters at his new house.
- Glossybox: so I received my April work that beauty glossybox today and of course my mail man came much later then he normally does so I was going crazy waiting. I am really liking this months box though and they even included a 20% code to renew my subscription since this is the last of my three month sub. I'm going to wait to see what the theme of next months box is before I renew since if I did today I'd get a duplicate of this months. Just realized I didn't include the body wash in the picture up with the review since I'd already set it aside to give to John when he's here to help me move stuff into my new bedroom and drive me to a doctors appointment (also sounds like we may be having a date night since he requested the night off work and we haven't had a date night out in 2 months) so that gives me a reason to use my new bb cream and glossybox goodies!
-Freebies: this has been a pretty good freebie week for me. I went to rite aid yesterday after my brothers birthday dinner and used a coupon I won on fb for free loreal healthy look creme gloss hair color and chose a really vibrant red called apple love. Also ended up getting some loreal BB cream and an eyeshadow brush.
- More boxes: I won a cravebox girls night in box through the drawing and that should be getting here Tuesday. I have no clue what's in it other then the wine gift card they let us know would be included but from shipping info it is 4.4 lbs so now I am even more intrigued to see what is included. My first goodies company box is also on its way and is estimated to get here Saturday I heard on Facebook that this months theme is snacks and I am always to new tasty snacks! I did receive a box yesterday that I will not be reviewing since I am giving it to my friend Elijah for his birthday and I don't want to risk him finding out what's in his present early.
- More birthday fun!: as I mentioned in Thursday thoughts before my nieces birthday is coming up in may and I am still not sure what I'm going to give her. This year she's having her birthday party at a big chuck e cheese near our house and I gotta admit I'm super excited for the excuse to go there. It was also so cute how my niece reacted last night when I let her know that John took the day off work to attend her party. So maybe John and I should look for a present for her while we are out tomorrow which will most likely include monster high and/ or makeup since those are her two favorite things.

Thursday thoughts

So it's Thursday again and that means its time for another installment of Thursday thoughts. Hope you guys are enjoying these and that they aren't boring.
- First off I have to mention the tragedy that happened this week at the Boston marathon. This is such a sad event that has occurred and my prayers go out to all those effected by the explosions. I just can't wrap my head around how anyone could do something so awful.

- Wet paint ahead- as in finally picked paint for my room revamps and the painting has commenced. So excited to have the painting done soon since it means my rooms are one step closer to being complete.

- Birthdays- This coming Wednesday is my brothers 30th birthday and luckily I already have a great birthday present for him. My nieces birthday is soon after that on May 5th and I still haven't figured out what to get her. It will most likely be something monster high since she loves those dolls. I also just put in an order last night for what will end up being either my boyfriend John or my friend Elijah's birthday present but I'm going to have to decide who once I receive it in the mail.

- Swim for your life- I just have to bring up how proud I am of my mom that she signed up for swimming lessons. She has been afraid of the water and swimming for her entire life and one of the things on her bucket list is to learn to swim. I've been going with her to the lessons the past two weeks and I am just so proud of the amazing progress she has made. Also now she's looking forward to going to Hawaii in the fall even more since she'll be able to cross snorkeling off her bucket list as well!

- Turn up the volume- I tried one of my two volumizing powder samples this week. Big sexy hair powder play which I received in my April ipsy bag. It gave me amazing volume but I don't know if I'm crazy about the texture of that powder. It seemed slightly sticky to me which I was not expecting from a powder. I still have to try Got2b powder'ful so we will see what kind of results I get from that.

- Autism awareness month- recently I found out that aspergers syndrome will be removed from the diagnostic manual and that it will be instead referred to as an all encompassing term of Autism Spectrum Disorder followed by the severity and how much assistance they need. I am slightly glad to be rid of that awkward name it used to have since it was the 'butt' of many jokes. These changes won't take effect till may but I think individuals with aspergers will still refer to themselves as aspie. On a side note I can't believe how fast it feels August is coming which means autreat is fast approaching. I'm getting more excited to be able to spend a week around a bunch of other people on the spectrum and getting to see my friend Elijah in person for a whole week!

Thursday thoughts... A day late

I hadn't finished writing my Thursday thoughts post yesterday since I decided to do my ipsy and juniper reviews first and then forgot to finish writing this one before I went to bed lol. -Wednesday  my mailbox was pretty stuffed since my April ipsy bag and juniper box arrived as well as the products from my first swap from a fellow member of a subscription box swap group on facebook. I sent them two glitter nail polishes in exchange for a bath and body works beautiful perfume spray sample and a Nicole by O.P.I polish in yellow it's me, she also included a leopard print makeup bag and a garnier fructis fall fight shampoo & conditioner sample as extras. This was a great swap in my opinion and I really like the products I received and I hope she likes the polishes that I sent her. -Finally got the coupon for free hair dye that I won from loreals Facebook so I'm looking forward to going out and getting that. Although lately I've been thinking I really want to try ombrĂ© hair but with a crazy color like pink or maybe I should go with blue for autism awareness month. - This week the weather has been feeling more like summer then spring so did we skip spring because winter decided to stay til nearly April? That what it feels like to me. - Best ink kind of let me down with the UV tattoo episode. Some of the artists did an amazing job on the flash challenge the best in my opinion was the one that became a day of the dead lady under the UV light. But then came the tattoo challenge and that was just a hot mess. I mean one of the artists even pulled the worst mistake in tattooing and didn't double check the spelling of the word in her tattoo and now it's going to harder for her skin to get it spelled right since the word is tattooed in both regular and UV ink. - April is autism awareness month and it is making me start to get even more excited for the autism convention I'm attending in August. I loved autreat when I went in 2011 and was sad that I didn't go last year but my friend elijah wasn't going either so I would have felt like I was starting back at square one. But this year Elijah and I are both going as well as my boyfriend John who's going as my support person. Plus since its August 5th to the 9th that means me and Elijah get to celebrate our joint birthday together (August 7th) this year! - Really looking forward to my April glossybox and goodies co can't wait to see what awesome stuff they send, fingers crossed no more bars of soap lol. - Books: I've been making an effort to read more lately and I'm loving the newest V.C. Andrews book Forbidden Sister. After this one I'm going to read the newest spin-off book from the soap opera General Hospital 'Love in Maine' I'd been wanting to read that book throughout the entire storyline on the show about it and was very excited they actually published it. But after I finish those two I need suggestions for what to read next since the sequel to forbidden sister doesn't come out September and I'll definitely be done with these two way before then. Live. Ipsy April- pretty in pink

I got my first ipsy bag yesterday and I am officially in love with this monthly subscription. The April theme of pretty in pink is perfect for me as pink is my favorite color. The bag this month is really cute although I wish the fabric on the inside was what was on the outside instead of plain white with the zipper being hot pink. They included a discount code that is good for 60% off a ticket to the generation beauty event in California. This is an amazing deal but I am not able to attend this so I won't be using my promo code. Onto the items in this months ipsy bag. Big sexy hair powder play: I'm looking forward to trying this product since it says that it gives your hair not only texture but volume to hair. This month I am going to have the chance to also try the got2b version of this product as well since I got accepted to their bzzagent campaign so we will see which brand gives more volume. Two cosmetics eyeshadow duo in heartache: this looks like a very nice eyeshadow and I really like that the lighter shade has a bit of a shimmer. I tend to lean towards pink shades for eyeshadow so I can't wait to see how these look on. Sation nail lacquer in love at first byte: At first glance I wasn't sure about this color but now I'm starting to like it. It looks like it will come out as a nice coral type shade and I have none like this in my collection.  Be a bombshell blush in sweet cheeks: I was super excited to see a bombshell product in the bag since I've seen so many great reviews. When I swatched this on my hand I really like how the shade looks and I'm glad they included a full size which will last me a long time especially since the April glossybox includes a full size tigi blush in every box and I'll be getting that in about 2 weeks. All in all I loved this months ipsy bag and can't wait to see what they send in mays bag which I'm hoping has a pattern on the outside of the bag instead of just a solid white. Live. Love. Stay Asp-tastic!

Juniper April box review- celebrating founder Lynn's birthday month!

I received my first Juniper box yesterday and though I did have one disappointment it has been a great experience. They are still a fairly small business and I have to say they have amazing customer service. I had been considering trying a time of the month box but I wasn't sure which one I wanted to pick. Juniper was the one I looked at most. So when I got the opportunity to try a free box I figured this would be a great way to see how this company is.  Right now they are mainly focused on tampons and you have the option of having them send backup pads and midol. You can also put in the note when you are joining that you would like to have more pads they are still working on making it an option to order pads instead of tampons. I won't go into the feminine products I received other then that I was excited they have my favorite brand U by Kotex! They also include a beautiful organza bag full of treats every month to make your period a more enjoyable time every month. I love the packaging they use from the beautiful tissue paper that looks seafoam green to me and the paper crinkles in yellow and gold to the gold fabric bag the backup comes in. April treats- Ahmad teas: mango magic, lemongrass & camomile, and evening tea. I'm usually not one for hot tea since I always burn my tongue the first sip of any hot beverage I have.  These tea flavors sound amazing so I'm thinking I might just add some ice after I make the hot tea to turn it into a nice iced tea that won't burn my tongue. Silk short bread: I was thinking this might be a hard/ crunchy cookie which I don't like but upon checking it feels softer then I thought. Marich chocolate blueberries: these sound amazing and I can't wait to try these! JJ's sweets original cocomels: this is the one treat I'm not sure if I'll like. I don't really enjoy carmels but I'll give them a try. Jer's chocolate pretzo change-o peanut butter bars: this sounds very good as I love chocolate and peanut butter together. Although since the weather has warmed up my bar felt a little melted but that's likely to happen with any chocolate in the mail now. Betterbee honeys (blueberry, rootbeer, and lemon): I'm not much of a honey person but these are in three of my favorite flavors (yes I love anything lemon). So I'm looking forward to giving these a try and maybe they will change my mind about honey.  The one disappointment I had with my box this month was that they'd forgotten to include the midol I asked for. I sent an email to them yesterday thinking they would probably just throw a couple extra packs of midol in my box next month to make up for it. So it was a complete surprise when they told me they are sending me next months box for free. As I said they have amazing customer service and I am loving this company! Can't wait to see what's in next months. I'm slightly hoping they have some pampering items in future boxes such as a nice candle or bath salt/bubble bath. The treats are great but I would love to pamper more then just my stomach. Happy birthday month to juniper founder Lynn! Live. Love. Stay Asp-tastic

Monday Musings

So I just realized I hadn't done a Thursday thoughts last week. I decided to make up for that doing a Monday musings instead. So here we go get ready for the randomness. ~Clear scalp and hair therapy shampoo: recently I received a box of 7 duo packs of shampoo and conditioner for their 7 day challenge. I wanted to try this shampoo cause the commercials make it look like an awesome product. Really wanted to like this but it just seems too thick to me. ~ Hardcore Pawn: I'd heard of this show before but had never seen it till this Sunday night. Decided to try watching just one episode and ended up not wanting to change the channel since this show is pretty crazy! Some of these people go insane when the pawn shop won't either take their items or give them what they want for the item.  ~Teen Mom 2: wow all of the girls except Chelsea were engaged this past weeks two episodes. Since these episodes were filmed like a year ago everyone already knows that Janelle and Gary didnt get married although she is married to a different guy named Courtland. Chelsea is quickly becoming tied with Leah as my favorite from teen mom 2 just for the fact she is doing such an amazing job with little Aubree. I also can't get enough of Leah's beautiful twin girls and I'm so sorry they have had to go through all this medical issues. ~Best ink: super excited this show is back for a second season! Pete wentz is a great choice for a new host and not bad to look at either. I just love tattoos and wish I could be the fly on the wall in a tattoo parlor for a day to just watch the artists tattoo and hear people's stories behind their tattoo. I have three tattoos and was able to watch my mom get her second tattoo right after I got my third. I just love tattoos and will probably get one more in the future. Loved their first flash challenge of spray painting self portraits. Looking forward to seeing the other challenges especially the UV tattoos to see what it involves and how the process is different from regular tattoos. ~ Boxes on boxes on boxes on bags o my! Sooo this month I am receiving 4 subscription boxes! Well technically three boxes and one bag. These monthly subscriptions are my new big fixation and I am still figuring out which are my favorites so I've been testing some of them out. So far I really enjoy glossybox so that is staying on my keep list. Should be receiving my first Ipsy bag in the next week or so and I'm thinking this one will make it on my keep list as well since the send out a makeup bag every month and I love cute makeup bags. Also makeup bags make a cute gift bag and I included one of the target beauty bags I had as part of a birthday/ Christmas present I gave last month as I knew my best friend would love it. Also getting my first juniper box this week and I'm iffy whether I want to keep this but I'll probably decide after I receive this box. Will also receive my first goodies co box and even though the box looks really great the subscription process and waiting list are really confusing. So we will see if juniper and goodies co are good or not. Probably won't try fancy box ever again but I would love to be able to find a monthly book box since I love reading and think it would be awesome to discover new books- any of you know any good monthly subscription boxes either for books or one that I haven't tried yet? Some time in the future I plan to try popsugar at least once (maybe in August as a birthday present to myself or might ask my boyfriend for that for my birthday lol) That's all for today but this week I should have at least one box review and Thursday thoughts should be back this week as well! Live. Love. Stay Asp-tastic!

Glossybox march review- Spring Fling

Glossybox Spring Fling march box I received my glossybox a few weeks ago and forgot that I had yet to write a review on it. Pretty sure that the April box will be a good one as they already revealed everyone will receive a full size blush worth $22 which makes that alone worth more then you pay for the box! Also next month I will be getting my first ipsy bag since I finally got off the waitlist!!  But anyway back to this months glossybox. What was inside: Elite Models intensity eye pencil- I am really liking that this is a soft pencil and am glad that they sent me a black one. I just started getting more into makeup so the only eyeliner I had before this was my blue LiSi liquid liner from last month so this was a welcome addition to my (small) collection! Koh Gen Do cosmetics oriental plants emollient cream- so far this is a nice product. I've tried it twice and it left my skin feeling nice. I would have probably never purchased this on my own but it was nice to try it. Modelco lip and cheek tint- its sad to admit that my favorite part about this product is the packaging. The color looks a little dark to me so I haven't gotten myself to actually try it on my lips or cheek yet but I will soon. I do like the scent though as it is fruity! Prestiche essential oil bar soap- I got the scent green machine and it is very strong in my opinion. I'm probably going to give this as part of a gift to someone I know will enjoy this more then me. Sebastian professional shaper fierce- I don't tend to use hairspray except for the rare occasion if I'm doing something special and my mom helps me do my hair (since I'm half blind and the two sides of my hair would never match if I did it lol). So I'll probably save this to use next time I have a special occasion or perhaps for my next girls night out with my best friend.  This box wasn't all bad but wasn't the best box either. I am hoping that the April box is great which it looks like it will be. Hopefully no more bars of soap for at least a month or subscribers might start running around like mad women asking strangers if they smell cause glossybox just keeps sending them bars of soap lol.  Kind of hoping for a cute spring eyeshadow in April's box though! Live. Love. Stay Asp-tastic!

Thursday Thoughts!

Thursday thoughts So it's Thursday again and I figured why not try my hand at Thursday thoughts again. So here goes nothing: - I did receive my march glossybox last Friday just haven't written my review yet partly cause I am slightly underwhelmed by this months box. So hopefully the April box makes up for it and please not another bar of soap it's like your saying I stink if you that lol. -snow in spring?!? Seriously I thought its supposed to be spring so why did I wake Monday to around 3 inches of snow on the ground? Wish it would start warming up and feeling like spring. - Ipsy I will need to remind myself not to check your FB page the next few weeks as you have started the sneak peaks and my favorite part of monthly sub boxes is the surprise. - Books, books, and more books: I love reading it's something my parents instilled in me and my brother from a young age. So far in the last week I finished reading two books and started on a third!  1) death by Facebook  This book has so many twists and turns I had trouble putting my phone down since I read this on my kindle app. 2) daughter of light I started reading V.C. Andrews books years ago and this is the sequel to daughter of darkness. These two books are the first vampire books in her library and though I was skeptical I found I really enjoyed them. 3) Forbidden sister This is the newest V.C. Andrews book and starts a new series. Just got this book last Friday so I'm not sure what I think about it yet after reading a few pages. -Easter: can't believe this Sunday is Easter but I am looking forward to being able to have ketchup again! Yes I did just say I'm looking forward to ketchup. As a Roman Catholic I give up something for Lent (the 40 days leading up to Easter) and I gave up ketchup cause I use it at least once a day. -Easter also reminds me of earlier this week when my mom explained the true meaning behind Easter to my niece K. K is so smart and she even explained Easter to one of her friends at school this week which made all of us smile. Can't come up with anything else right now so I guess I'll end this post and hope you guys come back to read next Thursday since I think I kinda like these type of posts. Live.Love.Stay asp-tastic!

Thursday Thoughts

Thursday thoughts  I saw this on a few other blogs so I decided I'd give it a try this week.  It may or may not become a weekly thing not sure yet. - Starting to get impatient waiting on my march glossybox to get here especially seeing so many people posting they got theirs. Last month I was one of the first people to get their box so I am really not liking having to wait.  - Speaking of glossybox they are offering a limited edition box today which I was considering buying but I'm not sure I will now after seeing the picture of the products. It's not looking like a box I'd enjoy so I think I'm going to hold off and wait for the next one. - I am looking forward to reorganizing my stuff between my two rooms. Well I should clarify that I'm looking forward to the finished product not the process to get to it. - I did get some good news this week that I am off the wait list for ipsy and will be receiving my first bag next month. Hoping it's a cute bag and I'm looking forward to seeing that adorable pink envelope in my mailbox next month! - Next month I will most likely be receiving 3 packages again only they will be glossybox (the last of my 3 month subscription and I plan on resubscribing in may!) also my first ipsy bag and I may possibly be getting my first goodies co box.So we will see how I feel about these two subscriptions. Loving that ipsy is a bag instead of a box since I love bags and have so many of them already! - The one other monthly subscription box that I am really wanting to try is the popsugar must have box which look so amazing to me. The only thing that I don't really like about that one is the price. - I can hardly believe it is almost April which means autism awareness month! Also my brothers 30th birthday and I still have no clue what to get him but it's not till around the end of April so I have time to figure it out.  - Zombie perfume?!? Demeter has aparently now released a perfume that is supposed to mask your human smell so the zombies don't know your alive if there is a zombie apocalypse. Not sure I would buy this one but I am wanting to smell some of the other crazy sounding scents that Demeter has just not sure where they even sell these. Well that's it for my first Thursday thoughts hopefully you weren't bored and I am hoping to get my glossybox soon so that I can post my review up here. Keep your eye out for that and my voxbox product review blogs! Live.Love.Stay Asp-tastic!

March fancy box

I got the march fancy box in the mail today and they are some unique products I received. The box cost me around $21 since I was able to use a code for $25 off and my boyfriend and I were both excited to see what they sent. I do slightly wish I'd gotten some sort of accessory for my iPhone but o well. Let's get into the box. Clocky rolling runaway alarm clock- this is cute but the picture on the box was pink while the actual clock I got is black. I'd been excited thinking I got a pink one. This will probably end up being a gift for someone just not sure who I'd give it to yet lol. It's an alarm clock that rolls away from you when you go to turn it off. Pilot and captain tee shirt- I would never pay $32 for a tshirt but I'll probably wear this shirt to sleep in since it is super soft. It would have been funnier if I had gotten the DC airport one instead of the Paris one that I got.  Broom groomer mini- this is a cute little product the mini broom fits right in the dustpan for easy storage. This may end up being another gift just not sure who I would give it to. Perhaps my brother for his birthday next month since he just got a new apartment. $10 shoptiques gift card- I looked on their website earlier and didn't really see anything I would buy but I already have an idea who I'm going to give this to. Citrus zinger water bottle- such a neat idea you fill the bottle with water and put half a citrus fruit in the bottom compartment where there is a juicer. Then you are able to infuse your water with the citrus juice. It's a cute bottle but we never have fruit other then apples and bananas in the house. All in all I may only be keeping the shirt but at least I got some cute unique gifts for people now just to figure out who gets what lol. Live.Love.Stay Asp-tastic!

Sugar n spice n everything nice that's what my first voxbox is made of!

Sugar and spice and everything nice- that's what my very first voxbox is made of! ! Hey guys! So this week looks like I'm going to be posting THREE box reviews for you guys to look upon, hope you love 'em! So let's start this box week off right with a truly sweet voxbox! I joined influenster at the end of January and was surprised to receive an email two weeks later that I was prequalified for a feb voxbox. Took the survey right away and a few weeks later I got the email that I was picked to receive a box. This box is free from influenster for the purposes of testing the products. So let's dive into the goodness! The products: Nectresse (box of 40 packets)- This is from the makers of Splenda and tastes like sugar but has zero calories. It is made from monk fruit and other natural sweeteners. I got two free packets of this a month or so ago which I didn't get the chance to try so I'm looking forward to trying this! Vaseline spray & go moisturizer total moisture (6.5 oz spray canister)- The info card says that this spray lotion moisturizes and absorbs in seconds. I really like that it claims to not leave your skin greasy or sticky since I really don't like lotions that leave my skin sticky and greasy.  BelVita breakfast biscuits (a packet of 4 biscuits)- I'm probably going to give these to one of my family members to try as I don't really like hard cookies. I will say they do look good though. Dickinson's original witch hazel oil controlling towelettes (20-count box and coupons)- the info card says that these have a soothing blend of witch hazel and aloe to rejuvenate skin and lift dirt and impurities from pores. I am excited to try these and see if they will help the little bit of oil and blemishes that I've been noticing lately. Colgate optic white collection (toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash)- these products are said to get you whiter teeth in five days as compared to ordinary toothpaste alone. I find it a little funny that I was excited about there being a toothbrush in here since I was going to buy a new one very soon and now I don't have to! I will probably only use the toothpaste a few times and same for the mouthwash as mint makes me gag (which I'm sure I mentioned in my first blog)  All in all I really like this box and am so grateful that influenster chose me to receive one.  I will be posting review blogs for the products as I try them so keep an eye out for that. This blog was just to give you guys my first opinion on the sugar n spice voxbox. I am not paid to do this and received this box of goods purely for products testing and reviewing. "I may not be where I intended to go, but I am exactly where I'm meant to be"

Upon finding this quote it just felt like the right title for this blog entry. I can't quite explain why but today is just one of my 'bad' aspie days. If someone were to ask me why I would not be able to explain. I just know that I can feel a difference and that I don't feel like being around people.  There have been days in my past where thinking about the vast difference between where I wanted to be and where I truly was caused a deep depression. Especially seeing so many people around me at those points in their lives. I now know that where I am in my life is where I am supposed to be at this time.  I suppose part of my bad day is wondering about when I will finally get my disability hearing and wishing I could just get approved already. My left eye is bugging me today which means one of the corneal blisters likely popped. I am looking forward to and yet nervous about the next big surgery I am going to have. Hopefully some point this year I will be able to go in and have my left eye removed. In the past I never thought this would be a decision that would be placed upon me. I also have had a lot of time to think about this decision and know that it is the right one for me. Since my left eye no longer has vision and hurts at varying levels every day there are far more reasons for the surgery. It will also help me to be able to look at myself in the mirror and not have my thoughts go right to the shunt in my left eye. My mother and friends have told me that they don't notice it but for me it's all I see in the mirror. I'm nervous because it is the biggest surgery that I will ever have. My loving boyfriend has told me that I'm not allowed to be nervous though as that is his job. It does help knowing that I have so many people who are here for. I know that their support will mean even more to me after the surgery since I'm going to need help adjusting to this big life change.  I guess it's just hard wrapping my head around having to make this huge decision at the age of 27. God has never given me more than I could handle in the past so I fully trust that this is part of his bigger plan for my life. Even though I don't feel like being around people today I just wanted to get some of the things bouncing around inside my head out. Writing out my thoughts is somewhat therapeutic to me and helps me sort some of them out. My bad day isn't because I'm sad persay, there are plenty of things in my life to make me smile. I have amazing parents, a great brother, a wonderful niece, the best friend anyone could ask for, and a boyfriend who loves me for me and makes me smile every day.  I love all of them beyond words and more then I can ever express I just hope that they understand how much their support and love mean to me each day.

Glossybox February 2013 international style box review

Glossybox
February 2013 international style
Today when I went to check the mail there was an exciting surprise - my February glossybox!
For those of you who do not yet know what glossybox is it is a monthly subscription box that costs $21/ month with free shipping although the monthly cost does go down when you purchase the 3 month, 6 month or 1 year subscription. They send out a monthly themed box which tends to include 5 beauty products which can be deluxe sized samples or full size products.
After researching monthly subscription boxes for a while I finally settled on glossybox to be the one I wanted to try so I signed up for a 3 month subscription last week. At checkout they'd given me an estimated ship date of February 19th but since I'd yet to recieve a shipping notice was under the impression my box had yet to ship.
So there was a little happy dance at my mailbox today at the sight of a glossybox poking out (they had to shove it in there and I do wish they had left it on my porch, which is what it looks like is done with other peoples glossybox, since they had to leave the mailbox hanging open with the box in plain sight.)
Glossybox comes in a cute black outer box which had the glossybox logo all over it and has a convenient pull tab to open. Inside that box is the actual glossybox which tends to be a pale pink with the logo right in the middle of the lid. Although they have had months with different looks for the box.
Inside the box you find an info card sitting atop the tissue paper that holds all the goodies with a ribbon wrapped around everything. I was surprised that the ribbon and all the embellishments for this Month were shades of pink as I feel it would have been cuter in red, white and blue to match the adorable little info card but that's just my thoughts. Now on to the beauty goodies!!
The first product I pulled out was the
- Evologie esystem duo pack intensive blemish serum & stay clear cream.
They sent out the full size of this which is two 5ml (0.17 Fl Oz) tubes one of each product. It claims to rapidly clear blemishes and reduce redness and post acne scaring. I am looking forward to trying this as I've been getting a few pimples lately. Although I am not thrilled with the slight medicinal smell of the blemish serum.
Next was the
- LISI liquid line eyeliner in Potion 07
This appears to be another full sized product. The potion 07 is a shimmery deep blue that reminds me of the color of my moms chevy cobalt and I absolutely love that color! It looks like it will be a cute color on when I swatched a tiny bit on my hand. The info card shows one in black so I'm guessing that they sent out a mix of different shades throughout the boxes. Now I just need to figure out a cute eyeshadow shade to use with this it might be nice with a silvery grey. I am liking that it's not a pencil eye liner as I always feel I'm going to poke myself in the eyeball with those LOL.
Third product was
- Nail Rock nail wraps in Meadham Kirchhoff AW 2012
This design would have been better suited for a Halloween themed box as there are ghosts and other funky looking designs on them. The package claims these nail wraps will last up to 10 days once you put them on. I might try them in a few weeks after I take off the super cute hot pink gelish polish I have on now. It appears tho be a full size product and that when you want to remove them you can just peel them off of your nails no nail polish remover required which is pretty cool.
Fourth was
- Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Au the Blanc soap
This little bar of soap is wrapped so cutely and it made the entire box smell wonderful! A full size bar would cost $30 so even though it smells good I wouldn't shell out that much just for a bar of soap. The 1.76 oz bar in the box should last a while so that's a good thing. Since I prefer to use shower gel I'll probably just use this occasionally which means it will last even longer for me.
The last product
- Da Vinci cosmetics shimmer powder in twilight
The info card says that this mineral powder can be used to add a subtle glow. It can be used with eye shadow or blush or as a highlighter under eyebrows or on cheeks. I am in love with the shade they sent me when I swatched it on my hand it goes very well with my skin tone. The shimmer is very subtle which is a plus as I don't want to have my look be overly glittery.
All in all I am impressed with my first glossybox and am glad that I signed up for three months and would gladly sign up for more. This months box shipped very fast and it appears that I may be one of the first subscribers to receive their box this month! This helped me with my resolve to not look at any sneak peaks for this month so my box was a complete surprise when it got here. If you are interested in ordering glossybox please consider using my referral  link http://www.glossybox.com/referal?CI=NDMxNDM=
I'm hoping to continue my plan of not looking at sneak peaks next month which I guessed will be a spring theme and I may be right as the website lists a 'spring fling' box now that wasn't there earlier this week!
I might be doing YouTube reviews on these boxes I just didn't feel like doing one today. But there's a chance I'll film one later tonight or tomorrow. Next month I plan to try to film it while I inbox but thisonth would be already unboxed when I film.
In the next few weeks I should also have be receiving the other monthly subscription box I decided to try the fancy.com's fancy box! So keep a look out for that review and if you want to order your own fancy box there is a code right now (25off1) which will get you $25 off your first fancy box which is full of quirky homies wares, gadgets and clothing to name a few things! I hope this review wasn't too long and ramble and I do apologize for lack of photos at the moment as I had to post this from my phone since blogger wasn't working on my laptop :(
